Short answer
Managers or higher can edit persona settings for the Public Interface, preview how each persona responds, and apply changes that update new sessions immediately.

Full explanation
You can manage which persona represents your organization’s public AI interface. This determines the tone and behavior of responses that external users see when they interact with your system.

  1. Permissions
Only users with permission to manage the Public Interface (Manager level or higher) can edit persona settings. Vault personas and any collection or disabled organization personas are not available for selection.

  2. Selection and Display
Persona options are grouped into System Personas and Organization Personas. Each persona card displays its name, description, and preview sample. When you select and apply a persona, the Public Interface updates immediately.

  3. Behavior
The selected persona’s system prompt is used for all external conversations in the interface. Updates apply only to new sessions after the change. Persona selection automatically follows system disclaimers and safety checks to prevent unsafe or conflicting prompts.

Tips

  • Use preview chat to confirm the persona’s tone before applying changes.

  • Make sure the persona you select is active.

  • Check the change log to see who last updated persona settings.

Examples

  • A law firm applies a professional persona to ensure formal tone in client interactions.

  • A nonprofit organization uses a friendly, inclusive persona for donor engagement.
