Short answer
AskTuring can read and understand both text and visual content inside images and scanned documents, then index that information so you can search it and use it in chat like any other document.

Full explanation
When you upload images, screenshots, or scanned documents to a Project, AskTuring automatically analyzes the file contents. This includes printed text and, where possible, handwritten notes, along with visual elements such as layouts, labels, and diagrams.

The system extracts readable text from the image and interprets relevant visual information. All extracted content is then indexed inside your Project, just like content from PDFs, Word files, or spreadsheets. This means you can search for information from images, ask questions in Project Chat, and receive answers that reference what was found inside those files.

This feature is especially useful when important information exists only as photos, scans, or screenshots. You no longer need to manually transcribe content or convert images into text documents before uploading them to AskTuring.

Tips

  • Upload clear, high resolution images to improve text and handwriting recognition.

  • Scanned documents with good contrast between text and background produce the best results.

  • Organize image based files into Folders so they are easier to find and manage later.

Examples

  • A healthcare provider uploads scanned patient intake forms with handwritten notes so staff can search and reference them in Project Chat.

  • A construction firm adds site photos and scanned inspection reports to a Project, making written notes and labels searchable.

  • A marketing firm uploads screenshots of campaign dashboards so key metrics and annotations can be retrieved during planning discussions.

  • A government agency scans archived paper records and uploads them, allowing staff to search historical information without manual data entry.
