Short answer
You can cancel and delete a file at any time, even if it is still uploading, processing, or has encountered an error.
Full explanation
AskTuring gives you direct control over file ingestion. When you upload a document to a Project, the system begins uploading and processing it so the content can be searched and used in Project Chat.
If you decide you no longer want that file, you can use the Delete option at any point. This works even if the file upload has not finished, processing is still running, or the file previously failed with an error.
When you delete a file, AskTuring immediately stops the upload or processing flow and fully removes the file from the system. The file will not remain queued, partially processed, or stuck in an incomplete state. This helps keep your Projects clean and ensures only the documents you want are included.
This behavior is especially helpful when large files take longer than expected, when the wrong document is uploaded by mistake, or when a stalled file should not remain in your Project.
Tips
If a file appears stuck during upload or processing, delete it and upload a fresh copy.
Deleting a file during processing ensures it will not affect search results or AI responses.
Regularly review your Project files to remove anything that is no longer needed.
Examples
A law firm uploads a large discovery file to a Project but realizes it is the wrong version. They delete it while it is still processing and upload the correct document.
A healthcare provider starts uploading a report that is no longer required. They cancel and delete the upload before it completes to keep the Project accurate.
A marketing firm notices a file failed processing and is stuck in an error state. They delete it completely to prevent confusion and re upload a clean copy.
