Step-by-Step Instructions
Accessing AI Chat
Click AI Chat in the top section of the leftmost navigation menu.
Asking Questions
Click into the text field at the bottom of the chat interface.
Type your question or query. In AI Chat, external knowledge is always enabled by default, meaning the AI will use its built-in knowledge to answer your question.
Press Enter or click the send button to submit your query and receive a response.
Enabling Web Search
Click the web search icon (globe icon) located below the text input field to allow the AI to access real-time information from the internet.
When web search is enabled, AskTuring will include links to the online sources it referenced in its response.
Customizing Response Style
Click the persona icon (located to the right of the web search icon) to open the response style menu.
Select a persona from the available options (e.g., Teacher, Professional, Casual) to adjust how the AI frames its responses.
For example, selecting Teacher will make the AI provide explanations suitable for classroom use, with a focus on educational clarity.
Tips and Notes
External knowledge is always on: Unlike Project Chat, AI Workspace Chat always uses the AI's general knowledge. You don't need to upload files or configure knowledge sources.
Web search is optional: Toggle web search on only when you need current information or want source citations from the internet.
Response style persists: Once you select a persona, it will apply to all subsequent responses in that chat session until you change it.
No file context: AI Chat does not have access to your uploaded files or project-specific knowledge. For document-based queries, use Project Chat instead.
