Summary

This article walks you through creating a new project in AskTuring, including naming it, adding a description and instructions, and accessing project settings. You'll need this when starting a new workspace to organize your conversations and files.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Project Chat

Open the leftmost menu in your AskTuring workspace and click Project Chat.

2. Create a New Project

In the center of your screen, click the + Create Project button.

3. Name Your Project

In the "Write your project name here." field, enter a descriptive name that reflects the project's purpose or subject matter. Choose something clear and specific to help you and your team identify it easily.

4. Add a Project Description (Optional but Recommended)

In the project description field, provide details about what your project covers. This context helps AskTuring deliver more accurate and relevant answers. While optional, adding a description improves response quality.

Tip: You can click the Fill with AI button in the bottom right corner of the description field to have AI generate a description based on your project name.

5. Add Project Instructions (Optional but Recommended)

Below the description field, you can define custom instructions that control how AskTuring responds within this project. For example:

  • "Never use semicolons"

  • "When creating schedules, never plan anything for Saturdays and Sundays"

These instructions give you fine-grained control over the AI's behavior in this project.

6. Finalize Project Creation

Click the Create Project button below the instructions field to save your project with the name, description, and instructions you've entered.

7. Access Project Settings

Once created, click the project name in the top left corner (next to the gear icon) to open the project menu. From here, you can:

  • Add files to the project

  • Edit the project name, description, or instructions

  • Access other project settings

Tips and Notes

  • Descriptions and instructions are optional but highly recommended β€” they significantly improve the quality and relevance of AI responses

  • Use the "Fill with AI" feature if you're unsure how to describe your project; you can always edit the AI-generated text afterward

  • Project instructions apply to all conversations within that project, so choose guidelines that will be useful across multiple chats

  • You can edit project settings at any time by clicking the project name and gear icon in the top left corner
