Summary
This guide shows how to enable AskTuring’s Location Awareness so the assistant can answer location-specific questions. It walks you through accessing Settings, turning on Location Awareness, entering and saving your location, and confirms you can then ask things like current weather.
Prerequisites
You must be logged into your AskTuring account
You need access to your organization's Settings (typically available to all users)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open Settings
Click on your organization name in the bottom left corner of the AskTuring interface.
2. Navigate to Settings
Select Settings from the menu that appears.
3. Enable Location Awareness
Scroll down to the Location Awareness section. Toggle the switch from disabled to enabled.
4. Confirm Activation
Click the Enable button in the confirmation dialog that appears.
5. Enter Your Location
In the text field labeled Your Location, type your location (e.g., "London", "New York, NY", or "San Francisco, California").
6. Save Your Changes
Click the Save Changes button to store your location settings.
7. Verify It's Working
You can now ask location-specific questions in any chat. For example, try asking "What's the current weather?" and the assistant will provide information based on your saved location.
Tips and Notes
Location format: You can enter your location as a city name, city and state/country, or a more specific address. The more specific you are, the more accurate location-based responses will be.
Privacy: Your location is only used to provide contextually relevant answers. You can disable Location Awareness at any time by returning to Settings and toggling it off.
Updating your location: If you travel or relocate, simply return to Settings and update the location field with your new location, then click Save Changes.
Location-specific features: With Location Awareness enabled, you can ask about weather, local time, nearby services, and other geographically relevant information.
