Prerequisites
You must be logged into your AskTuring.ai account.
You must have access to an existing project.
You must have the file you wish to upload ready on your device.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate to the specific project where you would like to add a file.
Add the file of your choice to the project.
Monitor the upload progress using the loading bar, which displays the completion percentage and the approximate time remaining.
Click Cancel next to the loading bar if you decide you no longer want to upload the file. This must be done before the loading bar reaches 100%.
Wait for the parsing stage to begin. Once the file is successfully uploaded, AskTuring.ai will start parsing it to make it usable in your project.
Monitor the parsing time. Parsing typically takes longer than the initial upload, but if it takes more than a couple of minutes, the file may be stuck.
Click the small red trashcan icon at the bottom of the project menu if you need to remove a stuck file during the parsing stage.
Select Delete on the confirmation pop-up window to remove the file. You can now attempt to upload the file again.
Tips and Notes
Processing times vary: Very large files will naturally take AskTuring.ai a longer time to ingest and parse.
Two distinct stages: Remember that adding a file happens in two parts. The first is the upload stage (where you can use the Cancel button), and the second is the parsing stage (where you must use the trashcan icon to delete a stuck file).
When to retry: If you find yourself waiting an unusually long time with no progress during the parsing stage, deleting and re-uploading is the fastest way to resolve the issue and keep your project clean.
