This article explains how to upload files and folders to AskTuring.ai from your local computer and how to import them from Google Drive. Use these steps to add documents to your workspace so they are available in your projects and Project Chat.
Prerequisites
You must be logged in to your AskTuring.ai account.
You must have access to the workspace and project where you want to upload files.
To use Google Drive Import, you must have a Google account and permission to access the files or folders you want to import.
Step-by-step instructions
A. Upload local files from your computer
Click the + icon
In the project where you want to add content, locate the + icon (often shown near your files list or project assets area).
Click the + icon to open upload options.
Click Upload files
From the menu that appears, select Upload files.
This opens the upload area where you can add files from your computer.
Drag and drop your files to upload
Open your computer’s file browser (Finder, File Explorer, etc.).
Select one or more files you want to upload.
Drag the selected files into the AskTuring.ai upload area and drop them.
The upload will start automatically. You may see a progress indicator while files are uploading.
Wait for the upload to complete
Keep the page open while files are uploading.
Once complete, your files will appear in your project’s files list or assets area.
You can now use these files in Project Chat and other project features.
B. Import files or folders from Google Drive
Click + Files
In your project, find and click the + Files button.
This opens the file source options.
Select Connect Google Drive
From the options, click Connect Google Drive.
A Google sign-in or permission window will open in a new tab or popup.
Choose your Google account
In the Google window, select the Google account that has the files you want to import.
If prompted, sign in with your email and password.
Review the access permissions and click Allow (or the equivalent button) to connect Google Drive.
Select your file or folder in Google Drive
After connecting, a Google Drive file picker will appear.
Browse through My Drive, Shared with me, or other folders as needed.
Click to select:
A single file,
Multiple files, or
An entire folder you want to upload to AskTuring.ai.
Confirm the import
After selecting, click the confirmation button (for example, Select or Upload) in the Google Drive picker.
The import will start and may take a moment, depending on file size and number of items.
Verify your imported content
When the import finishes, the selected files or folder will appear in your project’s files list or assets area.
You can now use these documents within AskTuring.ai, including in Project Chat.
Tips or notes
Large files or many files at once may take longer to upload or import.
Avoid closing the browser tab while uploads or imports are in progress.
If you don’t see Connect Google Drive, you may not have this integration enabled in your workspace or your role may not allow it.
If Google asks for permissions again later, you may need to re-authorize the connection to continue importing.
After uploading or importing, it can take a short time before files are fully processed and searchable in Project Chat.
