  1. Summary

This article explains which common file types you can work with in AskTuring.ai and how to open images and structured data files (like .xlsx and .csv) from your project. Use these steps to quickly preview and review your data assets in the Files tab.

  1. Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in to your AskTuring.ai account.

  • You must have access to the project and its Files tab.

  • The files you want to view (images, .xlsx, .csv) must already be uploaded to the project.

  1. Step-by-step instructions

A. Open the Files tab

  1. Go to the Files tab

    • In your project, click the Files tab to see all project files.

  2. Open the file upload menu (optional)

    • In the Files tab, click the + Files button if you want to upload new files before viewing them.

    • After uploading, your new files will appear in the project files list.

B. View image files (for example, .png, .jpg, .webp)

  1. Open an image from the file list

    • In the project files list, find the image you want to view (for example, Newspaper.webp).

    • Click Newspaper.webp to open it.

  2. Preview the image

    • The image viewer will open and display the selected image.

    • If there are multiple images, you may be able to move between them using navigation controls in the viewer.

C. View structured data files (.xlsx, .csv)

  1. Open an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx)

    • Locate your spreadsheet in the project files list (for example, DArticles.xlsx).

    • Click DArticles.xlsx to open it.

    • The file will open in a viewer where you can see its rows and columns.

  2. Follow links or references from the spreadsheet (if any)

    • If your spreadsheet contains links (for example, a link such as https://scribehow.com/...), click the link in the viewer to open it in a new tab.

    • Use this to access related guides or documentation referenced in your spreadsheet.

  3. Open a CSV datasheet (.csv)

    • In the project files list, find your CSV file (for example, Datasheet.csv).

    • Click Datasheet.csv to open and view it.

    • The CSV content will display as structured rows and columns for easy review.

  4. Tips or notes

  • Common supported file types include:

    • Documents (for example: .pdf, .docx, .txt)

    • Images (for example: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .webp)

    • Structured data (for example: .csv, .xlsx)

  • Very large spreadsheets or CSV files may take a few moments to load in the viewer.

  • If a file does not open in the viewer, try downloading it and opening it locally with an appropriate application.

  • File names in the Files tab are clickable—use them to open previews quickly without leaving the project.
