  1. Summary

This article explains how to upload files and folders directly from Google Drive (and other connected cloud storage services, if enabled) into your AskTuring.ai project. Use these steps to add cloud-stored documents without downloading them to your computer first.

  1. Prerequisites

  • You must be logged in to your AskTuring.ai account.

  • You must have access to the project where you want to upload files.

  • You must have a Google account with permission to access the files or folders you want to upload.

  • To see other providers (such as Dropbox or OneDrive), those integrations must be enabled in your workspace.

  1. Step-by-step instructions

A. Open the Files tab and cloud upload options

  1. Open your project and go to Files

    • In AskTuring.ai, open the project where you want to add files.

    • Click the Files tab to view the project’s files.

  2. Open the file source menu

    • In the Files tab, click the + Files button.

    • A menu will appear with upload and cloud storage options.

B. Connect and upload from Google Drive

  1. Select Connect Google Drive

    • In the + Files menu, click Connect Google Drive.

    • A Google sign-in or permissions window will open in a new tab or popup.

  2. Choose your Google account

    • In the Google window, select the Google account that contains the files or folders you want to upload.

    • If prompted, sign in with your email and password.

    • Review the requested permissions and click Allow to connect AskTuring.ai to your Google Drive.

  3. Select files or folders to upload

    • After connecting, a Google Drive picker will appear.

    • Browse your Drive (for example, My Drive, Shared with me, or specific folders).

    • Click to select:

      • A single file,

      • Multiple files, or

      • One or more folders you want to upload.

  4. Confirm the upload

    • Once you have selected your files or folders, click the confirmation button in the Google Drive picker (for example, Select).

    • AskTuring.ai will begin importing the chosen items into your project.

    • Wait for the upload to complete; progress may be shown depending on file size and number.

  5. Verify files in your project

    • When the upload finishes, the imported files or folders will appear in your project’s Files tab.

    • You can now use these documents across your project, including in Project Chat.

C. Using other cloud providers (Dropbox, OneDrive)

If your workspace has additional providers enabled (such as Dropbox or OneDrive), they will appear alongside Connect Google Drive in the + Files menu.

  • The general flow is similar:

    • Click the relevant provider (for example, Connect Dropbox or Connect OneDrive, if visible).

    • Sign in and grant permissions.

    • Select files or folders.

    • Confirm to upload them into your project.

If you do not see Dropbox or OneDrive options, these integrations are not currently enabled for your workspace.

  1. Tips or notes

  • Uploading entire folders from Google Drive can help you bring in related documents in one step.

  • Large files or many files may take longer to import; keep the browser tab open until the process completes.

  • If the Google sign-in window is blocked, check your browser’s popup blocker and allow popups for AskTuring.ai.

  • If you are asked to re-authorize Google Drive, follow the prompts to restore access.

  • If you do not see Connect Google Drive (or other providers), your workspace admin may have disabled these integrations.
