This article explains how to integrate your Slack workspace with AskTuring.ai. Connecting Slack allows the platform to sync conversations into your knowledge base and enables you to interact with your project data directly within Slack using commands.
Prerequisites
You must have an AskTuring.ai account with Admin or Manager permissions.
You must have administrative access to the Slack workspace you intend to connect.
Your workspace must be on a Slack plan that supports third-party app integrations (Pro, Business+, or Enterprise Grid).
Step-by-step instructions
Navigate to the Integrations page
Open your browser and go to
https://app.askturing.ai/organizations/integrations.Alternatively, you can find this by clicking on your organization settings and selecting the Integrations tab.
Click "Connect Slack Workspace"
Locate the Slack section on the integrations dashboard.
Click the Connect Slack Workspace button. This will redirect you to Slack's secure authorization page.
Authorize the integration
Review the permissions requested by AskTuring.ai, which allow the bot to monitor specific channels and post responses.
Click Allow to grant these permissions and finalize the connection.
Once authorized, you will be redirected back to AskTuring.ai, and your Slack workspace will appear as "Connected."
Tips or notes
Using the Bot: Once connected, you can use the
/askturingcommand or mention@AskTuringin your Slack channels to get instant answers from your project knowledge base.Channel Selection: After the initial connection, you may need to invite the AskTuring bot to specific channels using the
/invite @AskTuringcommand in Slack to begin syncing those conversations.Data Security: AskTuring.ai respects Slack's trust boundaries. It only monitors public channels it has been invited to and does not access private DMs unless explicitly configured.
Sync Time: It may take a few minutes for historical conversations from newly joined channels to appear in your Semantic Map or Project Chat.
