How to change your 2-step verification (2FA) method

Updated this week

To safeguard your Aspire account, 2-step verification (or 2FA) is mandatory for all users. Users have the flexibility to select their preferred method of verification:

  • OTP verification - This method involves verifying an OTP received via email during login.

  • In-app verification - With this method, users are required to add a trusted device, which can be used to review and approve login requests on other devices or browsers.

How to Change Your Verification Method

  1. On your Aspire dashboard, go to "Settings" in the upper right corner and select "Security" (web app). On the mobile app, go to "Account", choose "Settings", and then select "Security".

  2. Click "2-step verification".

If You Choose In-App Verification

Whenever you log in to your Aspire account on your desktop or mobile device, a notification will be sent to your trusted device. You can then click "Approve" on your trusted device to log in to your account.

To enable this verification method:

  1. Click on "Set up a trusted device".

  2. Click "Set up as a trusted device" under the device that you would like to set up as a trusted device.

Open the notification sent to your selected device.

  3. Log in using your registered email and password or use biometric authentication (fingerprint/face ID).

  4. Complete the identity verification shown in the app:

    1. Admin, Finance with transfer rights users, Finance with submit-only rights users: Verify your identity by taking a selfie.

    2. Finance with no submit or transfer rights users, Employee users: Verify your identity by taking a picture of your ID and a selfie.

  5. After successful verification, ensure that notifications are enabled for your Aspire app, as login approval requests will be sent to your trusted device via push notification.
