Connecting your brand’s Instagram account to Aspire has two important benefits:

  1. Social listening: You can stay informed on when creators tag you in an Instagram post or Story or mention you in a comment.

  2. Instagram Direct Messaging: You can invite creators from Instagram’s Creator Marketplace to your projects, communicate with creators through Instagram Direct Messages and get estimated metrics for stories shared by all creators, including those who haven’t authenticated their insights or don’t have a professional Instagram account.

Getting Started

  • If you have never connected Instagram to Aspire before, click here.

  • If you already have an Instagram connected for social listening, click here.

First Time Connecting Instagram to Aspire

If it's your first time connecting Instagram to Aspire, please follow the steps below.

Before you begin

  • You must have an Instagram Business Account.

  • Your Instagram account must be connected to a Facebook Page. See this article for instructions.

  • Your Facebook account must have an admin role on the Facebook page connected to your Instagram account. See this article on how to confirm your role.

  • To enable IGDM on Aspire, you will need to log in to your selected Instagram account and turn on “Allow access to messages” under Connected Tools. See this video for instructions.

Directions

  1. Click your initials in the top right-hand corner and select Integration Settings.

  2. Under Integrations on the left menu, click on Instagram (Meta).

  3. Click “Add Account”.

  4. You’ll be prompted to log in to your Facebook account or continue as yourself if you’re already logged in.

  5. Click “Choose what you allow”. Make sure you’re selecting the appropriate Instagram account(s) and corresponding Facebook Pages. You will also need to enable all permissions.

  6. Click “Continue”.

  7. Review and accept Instagram’s Creator Marketplace Terms of Service.

  8. You will then be redirected back to Aspire and see your brand’s Instagram account listed under “Connected Accounts”.

  9. Click “Select for Direct Messaging” next to your Instagram handle to enable DMs.

💡 Enrollment in Instagram’s Creator Marketplace: Please note, your Instagram account must be enrolled in the Instagram Creator Marketplace to use Direct Messaging. If you are not enrolled at the time of adding your account, Aspire will apply on your behalf and you will receive temporary permissions to use the service until your enrollment request is confirmed. If your request is declined by Meta (see eligibility criteria in FAQs), your permissions will expire and you will not be able to send invitations through IGDM.

How to Enable IGDM on Connected Instagram Accounts

If you have already connected your Instagram account(s) to Aspire, you will need to re-connect your Instagram account to grant the appropriate permissions for IGDMs and social listening.

Before you begin

  • To enable IGDMs on Aspire, you will need to log in to your selected Instagram account and turn on “Allow access to messages” under Connected Tools. See this video for instructions.

Directions

Once you have enabled “Allow access to messages” under Connected Tools within Instagram, please follow the steps below or watch this video to reconnect your account to Aspire.

  1. Click your initials in the top right-hand corner and select Integration Settings.

  2. Under Integrations on the left menu, click on Instagram (Meta).

  3. Click “Add Account” under Connected Accounts.

  4. You’ll be prompted to log in to your Facebook account if you’re not already logged in.

  5. Click “Edit Settings”

  6. Select the Instagram Business Account(s) you wish to connect and click “Next”.

  7. Select the corresponding Facebook Business Account(s) and click “Next”.

  8. Select the corresponding Facebook Page(s) for each Instagram account you’ll be connecting and click “Next”.

  9. Then you’ll refresh the permissions needed to enable social listening capabilities for your Instagram accounts. Make sure to select ALL permissions on this page.

  10. Review and accept Instagram’s Creator Marketplace Terms of Service.

  11. Click “OK”. You will then be redirected back to Aspire and see your brand’s Instagram account listed under “Connected Accounts”.

Multiple Instagram Accounts

  • You may connect multiple Instagram accounts for social listening, but only one account can be selected to use for Direct Messaging.

  • The account selected for Direct Messaging is the one that Aspire will use for project invitations.

  • If multiple Instagram accounts are eligible for Direct Messaging, you will see the option to remove one account and select another.

  • If you have multiple Aspire accounts, you will need to connect a unique Instagram account to each one for Direct Messaging. We don’t currently support the ability to use the same Instagram account for Direct Messaging across multiple Aspire accounts.
