We recently launched a new feature that allows you to add sales tracking stages to your project so you can seamlessly generate promo codes within your project workflow.

However, there may be times when you need to generate a promo code for a member with a different commission structure or discount percentage. In these cases, you can visit your Sales Tracking dashboard to create a new offer.

The video below will walk you through how to create a new offer, generate promo codes, and send them to your members. You can also keep scrolling for written directions.

How to Generate Promo Codes

  1. Go to the Reporting tab and click on Sales Tracking.

  2. Click on + Add Offer and choose Promo Code Offer.

  3. Name your offer and enter a brief description.

  4. Select your Payout Option. (More information on each type shows up on the right side when you hover over it.)

  5. Enter the percentage or amount for Payout.

  6. Provide a group name.

  7. Select your naming strategy. (This is how the promo codes will be automatically generated.)

  8. Select your Discount Option then enter the percent or amount off of sale.

  9. Choose from the Purchase Restrictions.

  10. Set the Usage Limits (optional).

Note: The Limit number of times code can be used refers to the maximum number of times a specific member's code can be used.

  11. Click on Create Offer.

You can test your promo code by going to your store and start the process to checkout a purchase. Apply the code as a discount, if applied successfully, then the code was properly set up in your Shopify store. You do not need to go through with completing the purchase.

How to Send Promo Codes

  1. From the Sales Tracking Dashboard, select your offer.

  2. Click on Add Members to this Offer.

  3. Select the project/s the members belong to, then click Confirm Members.

  4. You can choose one or multiple members and make any additional edits to the promo codes.

Note: Only members who have not yet generated a code for in this offer will be shown to avoid duplication.

  5. Once done, click on Set Active Dates.

  6. Select the Start Date and End Date. Then, click Review.

  7. If everything looks good, click Generate Promo Codes.

  8. Once generated, click Done.

  9. You can now email the members their promo codes by selecting one or multiple members.

  10. Then click on the compose icon (Email Members) and a default email template will be prompted which automatically inserts the member’s name, promo code active dates and promo code.

  11. Click on Preview Personalizations to check.

  12. Then, click Send.
