Strategic best practices for creating a application page that will attract the people you're looking for!

So you've created your application page, set it live in the marketplace, and are starting to receive applicants... Awesome job!

Then you realize... the people applying aren't necessarily the right fit for your campaign! Don't worry though, it's possible that you just need to make a few adjustments to your application page in order to start attracting the people you're actually looking for! Best Practice #1

Make it clear if your campaign is PAID or UNPAID!

Ensuring that your campaign is visibly marked as paid or unpaid can be extremely beneficial when it comes to getting the right applicants for your application page. And as a reminder, "unpaid" means no commission or payment for posts.

If your campaign is unpaid, marking your campaign so saves time for both brands and creators and eliminates the exchange where a creator applies for a campaign expecting payment and the brand has to explain that they are not offering paid opportunities at this time. If you offering payment, we recommend asking creators for their PayPal Address and rates on your application page form.


Best Practice #2:

Looking for a certain type of imagery from your applicants? Use similar images on your application page!

Applicants are more likely to apply for a campaign when the aesthetic of the application page matches their own aesthetic. For example, if you're looking for content from your applicants that is bright and colorful, then you should use bright and colorful images on your application page as well!


Best Practice #3

Make sure to fill out the "Who You Are" section in detail! The more specific you are, the more likely you are to receive the right applicants!

Here are a few examples of bullet point items you can put under the "Who You Are" section on your application page:

Example #1:

  • A parent to a newborn child

  • Someone who cares about health & wellness

  • An influencer who has at least 3,000 followers on Instagram

  • Someone who is open to a product-only partnership

Example #2:

  • A dog parent of a dog (or dogs) smaller than 50 lbs.

  • Someone who is active and enjoys being outdoors

  • Someone who cares about high quality ingredients and their pet's health

  • A TikToker


Best Practice #4

Ask strategic questions in your form!

There are certain questions you can ask on your application page form in order to identify top applicants! (P.S. as a refresher, check out this article to learn more about editing the questions on your application page!)

Here are a few examples of questions you can add to your application page form:

  • What is your favorite *Insert Your Brand Name* product and why?

  • What makes you a good fit for this campaign?

  • How long have you been creating content for?

  • What is your favorite kind of content to create?

  • How would you describe your style of content? (i.e. fun, moody, adventurous, outdoorsy, parenthood, etc.)

  • Have you worked with any of our competitors or similar brands before? If so, which ones?

  • Share with us your creative concept for this campaign!

  • Have you used our brand before? If so, what product and what did you think of it?

  • Do you have any examples of content you've posted about our brand before?

  • Why do you want to be a part of this campaign?

  • Why do you want to work with *Insert Your Brand Name*?
