In the platform, each game can be assigned a League. This is an optional field, but we recommend setting leagues up if any of the following apply to your organization:

  1. If your games are part of multiple leagues

  2. If your game fees differ per league

  3. If you'd like to enable league-specific game permissions for your assignors and/or read-only users

  4. If you use our USSF integration, and only some of your leagues are USSF affiliated

  5. And/or if your officials submit game reports through Assignr, and you'd like to withhold payment for officials who have not filled out game reports, for at least one league's games.

How do I add a League?

To add a league, follow these steps:

1. Select Maintenance β†’ Leagues.

2. Select + Add New League.*

*Or Edit to the right of an existing league.

3. Add the League's Name and (an optional) Description.

4. If your site uses our USSF Integration: indicate if the league is USSF affiliated.

If a league is USSF affiliated, you'll want to check the USSF checkbox underneath the description, and select the USSF sport associated with the league.

5. If your site uses game reports: indicate if/when the league's games should withhold payment.

You are able to select any of the following options:

  1. No Reports Required (Default). Do not withhold payment on a missing report.

  2. One Report per Game (Primary Withheld). Withhold payment from the primary official when a report is not submitted for a game.

  3. One Report per Game (Entire Crew Withheld). Withhold payment for the entire crew if a report is not submitted for a game.

  4. One Report per Assigned Official. Withhold payment for each assigned official if a report is not submitted by them.

πŸ“– Learn more about Game Reports here: Game Reports β€” Administrator Overview. And more about approving games for payment here: How to Approve Games for Payment.

6. Select Save.

7. Repeat steps 2-6 for each League in your site.

Frequently Asked Questions β€” Leagues

1. Can I import my leagues?

Yes, your leagues will automatically be added/imported when you import your games, as long as you have a league column in your spreadsheet.

This means that any time you import games with Leagues associated with them that are not yet in the system, they will be saved as new Leagues upon completion of the import.

You can always edit your leagues after they've been imported, under Maintenance β†’ Leagues.

2. Can I create Game Fees that differ by League?

Yes! If your Game Fees are based off of games' Leagues, then you can add game fees by following these steps:

πŸ’‘ For full step-by-step instructions on Game Fees, check out this article.

  1. From Maintenance β†’ Leagues, select Edit next to the League you want to add Game Fees to.

  2. Under Game Fees, fill in the Default Fees (and, if applicable, Pay Scale fees), for each Age Group, Pattern, and Position.

  3. Select Save.

3. Can you summarize what Leagues can be used for?

Depending on how a site is set up, Leagues can be used for a few different things:

1. Game Fees.

As mentioned above, one of the ways you can set up Game Fees in the platform is per League. Learn about all the ways you can set up Game Fees in this article here.

2. League-Specific Game Permissions.

Some sites may have specific game permissions set up for their assignors and/or read-only users. This ensures that these users only have access to the leagues and games that are relevant for them.

You can learn more about these permissions in this article: How to set up Permissions for your Users.

3. League Descriptions for Officials.

As described above, there is an option to add a description to each league. If assignors have specific information they want to share with officials for their leagues - whether in text or attachment format - they can do so by adding it in the League Description box.

4. USSF Affiliation.

If your site uses our USSF integration, then each league can be marked as affiliated with USSF (βœ…) or not. This informs the system whether USSF certifications should be taken into consideration or not when assigning officials to that league's games.

5. Withholding Payment for Missing Game Reports.

If your site uses Game Reports, then for each league, you can specify if and how you want payments to be withheld for officials, if a game is missing a game report.
