Quick Answer
USB‑C for Mac
USB‑C or HDMI for Windows (laptops and desktops only, not Mini PCs)
Only the primary device needs a Luna Display unit
The secondary device does not need a Luna Display unit
✅ Before You Buy: Check These Three Things
Luna Display requires a specific type of port connection to work. Before purchasing, confirm all three of the following:
1. What type of computer do you have?
Luna Display works with Mac laptops and desktops, and Windows laptops and desktops. It does not work with Mini PCs (any brand), Microsoft Surface devices, ARM-based devices, Chromebooks, Android, or Linux.
2. What ports does your computer have?
Luna Display requires a display-capable port, either a USB‑C port with Thunderbolt or DisplayPort Alt Mode support, or a dedicated HDMI port connected to a graphics card. A plain USB‑C port (data-only) will not work.
3. Where does that port get its signal?
For desktops and custom PCs, the port must connect directly through your graphics card (GPU), not through the motherboard. Ports routed through the motherboard only are not compatible.

🪟 Luna Display for Windows
Luna Display supports USB‑C or HDMI on Windows laptops and desktops.
Laptops vs. Desktops
💻 Laptops:
Most USB‑C Thunderbolt and DisplayPort ports work (look for the symbols below). No other USB-C port types will be compatible.🖥️ Desktops:
The port must connect directly to your graphics card, not the CPU or motherboard. If you're on a custom or tower PC, check your GPU for available HDMI or DisplayPort outputs and use those.
❗ Not Compatible With:
Mini PCs of any make or brand (including Intel NUC, Beelink, ASUS Mini PC, Lenovo ThinkCentre, etc.)
Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Laptop, Surface Studio
Motherboard‐only USB‑C ports (no GPU path)
Locked‑down work/school devices (details)
ARM-based Windows devices
Chromebooks, Android, or Linux
⚠️ Why Don't Mini PCs Work?
Mini PCs typically route their USB-C ports through the motherboard rather than a dedicated GPU, and many do not support DisplayPort Alt Mode at all. Even when a Mini PC has a USB-C or HDMI port, it usually cannot output the display signal Luna requires. This applies to all Mini PC brands regardless of specs.
🍏 Luna Display for Mac
Luna Display supports USB‑C only on Mac devices.

Can I Use the Same USB‑C Luna on Both Mac and PC?
✅ Yes! If your PC's USB‑C port supports video output (look for a lightning‑bolt or DisplayPort icon), the USB‑C Luna works on both Mac and Windows.
⚠️ If your PC does not have a display-capable USB-C port (Thunderbolt or DisplayPort), it will not be compatible with the USB-C Luna.
💡 No icon? Check your PC's specifications or manual.
