AstroPay transfer stuck in progress

This article explains how AstroPay-to-AstroPay transfers work, processing times, and what it means when a transfer stays “In progress”.

AstroPay-to-AstroPay transfers are processed in real time and are expected to be completed immediately. When a transfer does not go through instantly, the most common reason is that the recipient’s account is not fully ready to receive funds.

For a transfer to be completed, the recipient (destination account) must have:

  • An AstroPay account successfully created

  • Identity verification completed and approved

  • Required documents validated

  • Wallets enabled and active

If the recipient’s sign-up or onboarding process is still pending, the transfer may remain “In progress” until the account setup is finalized.

What happens if the account creation is not completed?

The recipient has 24 hours to finish the account creation and verification process. If the account is not completed within this timeframe, the transaction will be rejected and the funds will be credited back to the sender’s wallet automatically.
