Why hasn’t my CVU transfer arrived yet and what should I do?

Understanding CVU Transfer Delays

CVU (Clave Virtual Uniforme) transfers are generally processed instantly under normal conditions. However, there are instances where delays may occur due to the following reasons:

  • Service Outages or Maintenance: The CVU transfer system may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or a technical issue. During such outages, both incoming and outgoing transfers are queued for processing.

  • Network Delays: Transfers need to clear through networks like COELSA, which may experience intermittent delays. While the transfer is pending, it may show as "In progress."

  • Platform Renovations: Sometimes, platform upgrades or renovations, such as those carried out by AstroPay, can temporarily impact transfer processing.

What to Expect During Delays

  1. Automatic Processing: Any funds queued during service outages are safely stored and will be processed automatically once the service is restored. No action is required.

  2. Safety of Funds: Your funds remain secure throughout the process. Transfers are never lost and are credited once normal network operations resume.

  3. Status Updates: Look out for in-app notifications that may announce temporary disruptions in service due to maintenance or outages.

What Should You Do?

  • For Pending Transfers: It’s best to wait until the service resumes, as most issues resolve automatically.

  • For Extended Delays: If the delay extends beyond the typical stabilization time (e.g., more than 48 hours post-resolution), gather your transfer details, including the COELSA ID, a unique 22-character alphanumeric transaction identifier. This information will assist in network tracing.

  • Check the App Notification: AstroPay frequently updates users about service statuses using alerts visible within the app. These updates will indicate when normal operations have resumed.

Assurances for Common Scenarios

  • Rejected or Returned Transfers: While rare, some transfers may appear as rejected or pending but are automatically reversed or processed by the system once issues are cleared.

  • AstroPay Wallet Transfers: If transferring directly to an AstroPay account, delayed transfers will also clear automatically, and you do not need to take action.
