How to register a PIX key

Learn how to register a PIX key in AstroPay to start receiving PIX transfers instantly in Brazil.

A PIX key is an identifier linked to your AstroPay account that lets others send you PIX transfers instantly. You need at least one registered PIX key to receive PIX payments in Brazil.

Types of PIX keys

  • CPF or CNPJ: your Brazilian tax identification number.

  • Phone number: your registered mobile number.

  • Email: your registered email address.

  • Random key: an automatically generated code with no personal data attached.

How to register a PIX key

  1. Open the AstroPay app and go to the PIX section.

  2. Tap Set up PIX.

  3. Select Register key.

  4. Choose the type of key you want to register.

  5. Verify and confirm.

ℹ️ Note: You can register up to 5 PIX keys per institution. Each key can only be linked to one account at a time.

Once registered, share your PIX key with whoever needs to send you money — they won't need your full bank details.
