If your USD account was closed recently, this was part of a one-time cleanup of unused USD accounts. Only your account details were removed — your AstroPay account, your USD balance, and your identity verification stay exactly as they were.

Why your USD account was closed

Your USD account was closed because it met both of these conditions:

  • It was created more than 30 days ago.

  • It received no approved incoming transfers (ACH, SWIFT, or domestic wire) in the last 120 days.

This was a one-time cleanup affecting users in Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia — not a recurring policy.

What stays the same

Only the account details (account number and routing number) were removed. Everything else is intact:

  • Your AstroPay account is fully active.

  • Your USD balance is untouched.

  • You can still convert, withdraw, or move your USD between wallets.

  • Your identity verification (KYC) is still on file.

How to create a new USD account

You can create a new USD account in a few minutes, free of charge. Since your identity is already verified, it will be ready almost immediately.

  1. Open the AstroPay app and go to your USD Wallet.

  2. Tap Get account details.

  3. Tap Create account.

⚠️ Important: Your new USD account will have a different account number and routing number than the previous one. If you shared your old details with an employer, family member, or external bank, send them the updated ones.

Transfers sent to your old account

Any transfer sent to your old USD account details after the closure will be rejected and returned to the sender. Share your new details with anyone who pays you to avoid interruptions.

How to keep your new account active

To prevent future closures, make sure your USD account receives at least one approved incoming transfer (ACH, SWIFT, or domestic wire) every few months. Using your USD balance — converting, withdrawing, or moving it between wallets — doesn't count as activity for this purpose.
