You must be an organization admin to set up Beacon. Follow these steps to enable a beta instance.

  1. Go to the Beacon signup page and enter your email.

  2. Although Beacon monitors all sites in your organization, select your primary site (if you have more than one). We recommend adding a site with an Atlassian Premium or Enterprise cloud plan to enable the use of Atlassian audit log insights.

To continue, select Agree and start now.

  3. Review the details, then select Get started to complete your sign up and install Beacon.

  4. Hang five while we add Beacon to your organization — this may take a few minutes. You’ll see this confirmation screen when it’s all done.

  5. Next, follow the onboarding instructions to set Beacon up for your org. Check out the demo video for a quick overview of how to use Beacon. Watch the video now

  6. Now is a good time to connect your SIEM, Slack or Microsoft Teams. By integrating one of these tools you’ll be sent Beacon alert notifications about suspicious activity as soon as they happen. If you don’t connect, you’ll only see alerts when you open Beacon.

You can also skip this step and set it up later in Beacon, under Integrations in the header.

  7. If you choose to connect Slack, select Connect to Slack > Connect new channel, enter the channel details and select Allow.

  8. If you choose to connect Microsoft Teams, select Connect to Teams > Add webhook, enter the incoming webhook URL, and select Save.

If you don’t have this information, you can set it up later in Beacon under Integrations in the header.

  9. If you choose to connect a SIEM, select Connect your SIEM and enter the webhook URL.

If you don’t have this information, you can set it up later in Beacon under Integrations in the header.

  10. Once you've completed the onboarding steps, select Finish to go into Beacon’s Alert dashboard.

That's it. You're now ready to start using Beacon beta. 🎉
