Uploading your own segmentations to Attest audiences

Using segmentations, based on ‘Golden questions’ or ‘Typing tools’ when analysing Attest Panel surveys.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

1. Include your Golden / Typing questions in your survey draft.

When drafting your survey, add your Golden questions. Ensure you have them set up exactly as the typing tool has them written and if possible, drafted in the order within which the typing tool requires the answers inputted. Then launch your survey and start collecting results.

The golden / typing questions must be include in your survey and must be seen by all respondents, so cannot have any routing or logic applied to them.

2. Download the Excel export from the completed survey results.

The excel report shows how all the respondents to the survey have answered your golden questions.

3. Format the excel data into the format needed for ingesting into the typing tool.

This will be bespoke for your typing tool, so may require some transformation of the data.

Reach out to your Customer Research Manager for any support here.

4. Insert that data into your typing tool in the required format.

This will allow you to see how well each respondent in your survey fits into each segmentation determined by the algorithm in your typing tool.

5. Copy the respondent ID & segment columns into a new file and save it as a .csv

Create a new csv that includes the unique ID of every respondent who took your survey and their corresponding segmentation, determined by your typing tools algorithm.

6. Upload the data to the platform

  1. Go into the survey, and click Manage in the top right menu.

  2. Click “Import own audience data”

  3. Upload your new CSV

7. Split your results by your Segmentation 🎉

Select your new segments in "Custom Demographics" on the left side menu.

This will allow you to compare your entire survey by your new segmentations and highlight any significant differences.
