You can save time setting up your audience targeting across pieces of research. Choose to save an audience as a preset, and later apply this to any survey draft with a few simple clicks.

It can be time-consuming applying all the audience settings required for your research - country, language, demographic settings and quotas. This can be a step that delays getting your research launched. It’s also likely you’ll want to target the same audience across multiple pieces of research. Saving an audience to easily re-use across your team’s research studies will save you time setting up and give you the confidence to send surveys with no errors!

How to save an audience as a preset

You'll need to have created an audience in order to save it as a preset to re-use later.

  • Simply add a new audience in the Set audience page of your survey draft.

  • Apply the relevant targeting settings to the audience and click the three dots to the right of the screen.

  • Choose to save as preset.

  • You'll then be prompted to give it a name to easily find it later. When saved as a preset, the audience will be available to all other teammates in your organisation, so remember to give it a suitable name.

How to apply a preset audience to your survey

  • Within your survey draft, navigate to Set audience

  • Click to Add audience

  • You'll find two options: add new or add a preset

  • Select Preset audience and choose from the list shown

Select to apply your preset audience and you'll see the audience page update with your applied settings.

Things to take note of when using preset audiences

  • When saved as a preset, the audience will be available to all other teammates in your organisation, so remember to give it a suitable name.

  • Attest-recommended preset audiences are also available. Remember to check all the settings if applying an Attest preset audience to ensure the targeting suits your needs. If you need support setting up your audience targeting, reach out to our team of Customer Research experts.

  • One current limitation of the platform is you won't be able to edit or delete a saved audience once created.

  • If you've applied the wrong preset audience to your survey, you can simply delete any audience settings applied using the trash can icon on the right hand side of the row.

  • With Attest, you cannot send the same survey to different markets with different language settings. Each audience set up must have the same language. For this reason, you'll notice that some preset audiences are marked as Unavailable when choosing to add a preset.
