What's the difference between the inside margin and the outside margin?

The inside margin is the space where your two pages meet in the center and outside margins are at the outer edges of each page.

The inside margin (also commonly referred to as the gutter) will often be larger than the outside margin to accommodate for the space taken up when binding the pages together.
