1. Complete Your Booking
Book your ADHD assessment by selecting your specialist and appointment time.
Once confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with relevant details and documents to prepare.
We recommend checking with your GP that they accept shared care. You may want to share the details of our top consultant psychiatrists, as some services have lower levels of expertise, which could concern GPs.
2. Pre-Assessment Questionnaires
After booking, your specialist will send two questionnaires to complete—one for you and one for a relative or close friend.
These must be completed 24 hours before your appointment so your specialist has time to review them.
The assessment cannot proceed without these forms submitted on time.
3. The Assessment
The assessment takes approximately 2 hours.
It includes a background and medical history review, followed by a structured interview using a standard assessment tool.
Diagnosis is not guaranteed—this is an objective clinical process.
If diagnosed with ADHD, this will be confirmed verbally during the appointment, and a diagnostic report will follow.
4. Treatment (If Required)
If diagnosed, your specialist will discuss treatment options, which may include:
Stimulant or non-stimulant medication
Therapy
Coaching
Lifestyle changes
For medication, your specialist will provide details on options to help you decide.
A 30-minute follow-up appointment can be booked for further discussion if needed.
Before prescribing medication, your specialist will need:
Pulse rate, blood pressure, height, and weight
Sometimes, a letter from a cardiologist if you have a family history of heart conditions
5. Medication Monitoring (Titration Process)
Once medication is prescribed, your specialist will monitor it during approximately 3 months of follow-up appointments to optimise the dosage.
After the titration period, you can request the Shared Care Protocol.
6. Documentation
Consultation Letter: Typically sent within a week of your assessment.
Diagnostic Report: Sent within 2–4 weeks, detailing the assessment, outcome, and treatment plan.
