Requesting refills from the pharmacy electronically

How to reorder medications through August Health

If your community has refills available, you can order them directly through the resident’s chart or through the eMAR during a med pass.

Please note that community-managed orders cannot be processed for electronic refill. Approval of the order is required before it becomes eligible for refill. Any active pharmacy order can be electronically refilled, regardless of its classification (including narcotics), profiled status, or the number of remaining refills. Always follow your pharmacy’s and community’s best practices when requesting refills or reordering medications.


Option 1: In the resident's chart

Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Medications' tab of the residents' chart.

Step 2:
Identify the medication that requires refilling and hover your mouse or finger over the med order. Select the button with three vertical dots (⋮) on the right side of the medication.

Step 3:

Review the details and select order refill.

Step 4:

Select done.


Option 2: In the med pass in EMAR

Step 1:

In the individual resident’s med pass, locate the medication that needs to be refilled, then click the three dots in the top-right corner of the medication card.

Step 2:
Select "Manage Refills".

Step 3:

Select "Order Refill" to complete the refill request.
