If a controlled medication isn’t appearing in your inventory list, follow these steps to verify and ensure it’s correctly listed.

Note: A controlled substance with an assigned 'Drug Schedule' should automatically appear in Controlled Count. Medications should have a 'Drug Schedule' indicated when populated over from the pharmacy or when the medication is selected from the medication list during manual entry. If the medication was manually entered using the 'Create' option or manually entered before the Controlled Count release, follow these steps to ensure it is added correctly.

The medication order must include the 'Controlled Count' tag to appear in the Controlled Drug Count inventory list.

Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Medications' tab of the resident's chart

Step 2:

Identify the medication not on the inventory list and click the order to make changes.

Step 3:

Click the 'pencil' icon on the upper right of the information box of the med order.

Step 4:

The system will automatically search the medication library and apply the correct 'Drug Schedule' and 'Controlled Count' tag. Press 'Save' and the medication is then added to the Controlled Drug Count.

Note: If a 'Drug Schedule' is not found, you can manually add the 'Controlled Count' tag to the medication order by selecting the tag.
