Here are some tips to combine separate orders for the same medication so they can be counted in the same stock. If orders remain separate, then they will need to be counted separately in Controlled Drug Count.

If a medication has two separate orders (one as routine, and one as PRN), and you'd like to count them as part of the same stock, then you can combine the two parts of the medication order into one.


Orders with multiple schedules for the same medication:

When an order has two schedules for the same medication, you will see the separate doses on the medication order. This will allow you to count both the routine and prn in the same stock.

If the orders are separated, and you'd like to combine them. You can add another part to the schedule when manually entering an order or by adding an additional part to a pharmacy order when editing the order.
