Adding Crush Medications Order and Displaying in eMAR

Here’s how to add and discontinue a Crush Medications order in a resident’s medication list.

Step 1:

Navigate to the medications tab of the resident's chart.

Step 2:

Click "Add Order."

Step 3:

Click on "Enter medications or select order type" and then click "Crush Medications."

Step 4:

Enter the necessary information regarding the Crush Medications order. An end date is not required if one does not exist.

When the information is saved, a "Crush Medications" banner will appear in the med passes for the resident.

Discontinue the Crush Medications order.

Step 1:

In the medications tab of the resident's chart, find the "Crush Medications" order in the medication list.

Step 2:

Click into the med order, and at the bottom left of the screen, click "discontinue".

Discontinued "Crush Medications" orders can be found in the "Discontinued Orders" section of the medication list.
