Step 1:
When a computer temporarily goes offline, eMAR continues to store documentation locally on that specific device and browser profile.

Step 2:

Once the same device and browser profile reconnect to the internet, the documentation should automatically sync to August Health.

When you click on the banner, this message appears:

Step 3:

Under normal conditions, no re-documentation is required if the device comes back online correctly and without changes.

When the internet connection starts to come back, you'll see this message:

What Can Prevent Offline Documentation From Syncing

Offline documentation may fail to sync and be permanently lost if any of the following occur before the device reconnects to the internet:

  • The browser is reset, cleared, or reinstalled
Example: clearing browsing data, cache, or cookies

  • A different browser is used later
Example: switching from Chrome to Edge

  • A different browser user profile is used
Example: each med tech logging into their own Chrome profile

  • A different local computer login account is used
Example: switching Windows or macOS users

  • “Private” or “Incognito” browser mode is used

In these situations, the system cannot recover the data because it was stored locally and never successfully synced.

Key Rule to Remember:

Offline documentation will only sync if all three of the following remain the same when reconnecting:

  • The same physical computer and the same local computer login account

  • The same browser

  • The same browser profile

Important: Changing browsers or profiles = changing the storage location.
