Follow these steps to document that a med was not given to a resident!

Step 1:

In eMAR, on the Pass Meds tab, select the resident for whom you need to document an exception.

Step 2:

You can document which meds were given by marking them as done. If the med was not given, do not click mark as done. You can note the exception in the next step.

Step 3:

Click the button on the bottom right to confirm the med pass.

The medication not given / not marked as done will be under "Exceptions". You can select a reason for the exception using the drop-down on the right.

Once you have selected the appropriate reason for the exception, you can click the "Record All" button on the bottom right of the page.

Step 4:

A pop-up will appear showing you how many medications were scheduled, given, and any exceptions. Click in the box to sign off, and then click confirm.

You will then see the confirmed med pass for the resident, and at the bottom right of the page, you can see who completed it and when.
