Editing a Medication Order

Editing / Updating a Medication Order for a Resident

Follow these steps to edit/update a medication for a resident!

Step 1:

Go to the medications tab for the resident.

Step 2:

Click on the medication that needs to be edited/updated.

Step 3:

Click the pencil icon on the section you need to edit.

To edit Scheduling details on a medication:

Step 1:

In the Edit Order screen, make any changes you need to on the medication by clicking the pencil icon next to the Schedule section.

Step 2:

On this view, you can edit what type of schedule, quantity, frequency, as well as when the med is administered.

Step 3:

Once all changes have been made to the medication, click save at the bottom of the page.


To edit what condition the medication treats:

Step 1:

In the Edit Order screen, make any changes you need to on the medication by clicking the pencil icon next to the This medication treats section.

Step 2:

Make any desired edits in the text box.

Step 3:

Once all changes have been made to the medication, click save at the bottom of the page.


To edit pharmacy and physician information on a medication:

Step 1:

In the Edit Order screen, make any changes you need to on the medication by clicking the pencil icon next to the Prescribing Physician, Pharmacy, or RX Number section.

Step 2:

Make desired changes to Physician, Pharmacy, or RX Number by clicking into the text boxes.

Step 3:

Once all changes have been made to the medication, click save at the bottom of the page.


To review the order history for recent changes on a medication:

Step 1:

In the Edit Order screen, click the pencil icon next to the Order History section to review any changes.

Step 2:

Review any changes made to the medication, with the most recent change at the top. It shows the change as NEW and the previous version as OLD.

Step 3:

Once you have reviewed the order history of the medication, click cancel at the bottom of the page to back out of the medication order.
