Use Private Projects to restrict access only to certain people in Aurelius. Private Projects are available in our Enterprise plan.

What is a Private Project?

A Private Project in Aurelius restricts access to that project and any of the data within it to only the project owner and Admins on your account.

Why Use Private Projects?

Creating a Private Project is useful in a few scenarios:

  1. Restricting access on a project for a certain amount of time

  2. Privacy reasons require certain projects not be accessible by some users

  3. You want to allow users permissions and access to areas like Universal Search, All Tags, Collections, All Insights and All Recommendations but restrict access for specific projects and their data

How to Create a Private Project

In the new project modal, you'll see an option for "Private Project"

You can then invite other specific users to access that Private Project.

Private Projects are indicated by a lock icon next to the project name from the project list and within the project itself.

When to Use Private Projects vs. "Only Specific Projects" Permission

Use "Only Specific Projects" invite access if you want to restrict a users access to only specific projects and not any global area such as Collections, Universal Search, etc.

Use Private Projects to allow users access to all/other areas in Aurelius but limit access only to specific projects.

Managing Private Projects

You can invite new users to a Private Project or make the project public from the "Permissions & Access" dialog within the project.

This will allow you to manage or invite other users to that Private Project...

...or, you can make the project public by unchecking "Private Project", which will allow all users with permissions to see all projects the ability to view and access it from the projects page.

Other Considerations for Private Projects

Users with access to any Private Projects will be able to view and access those projects from the project list/page.

Additionally, users with access to any Private Projects who also have access to global pages such as Collections, Universal Search, All Tags, All Insights and All Recommendations pages will see data and results from those Private Projects on those pages as well.
