FAQ about price

Do you have sales?

Nah. We don't do sales or discounts. We keep our pricing straightforward year-round. No "50% off sales" that aren't really 50% off.

Instead of inflating prices to create fake sales, we focus on making sure you get a quality product with a generous trial period and adjustments. That's where the real value is.

Ausbeds is too expensive. What do you recommend?

Different bed shops have different price ranges. If you're in Sydney and you’re after a quality mattress and you’re concerned about price, I recommend you head over to Beds and Beyond in Stanmore. If you're not from Sydney, check out our guide to Australian mattress makers.

What's the difference between a $1800 queen-size mattress and a $5000+ mattress?

Interesting question. From what I see, only companies that have brand power will be able to have transactions in the $5000+ range. Any company can list a mattress at that price, but only the ones that spend a lot of money on marketing will be able to sell them.

Are the materials better? At that range, there is certainly a lot less reason for the companies selling them to skimp on materials. So chances are, every component will be better. However, just as with any luxury item, it's not going to be 3 times better for the price. The product is well outside of the normal range of what most people will pay. The volume of sales will be far, far lower than the $1800 range. And therefore, there will be an extra expense in taking that product to market.

Is it worth it? Depends on how much money you have. For some people, paying 3 times more and getting something 20% more comfortable would be worth it. If the only way to get that "feel" is to pay triple the price, and there is no alternative, well, suddenly it's a good deal.

On the other hand, I often have people come into my showroom absolutely furious that they spent $5000 on a mattress and it dipped in 3 years.
