Tell me about natural latex
Dunlop latex is the fluid from a hevea tree that has been whipped and poured into a giant "waffle" mould. The waffle mould has metal rods in it, which heat and cook the latex. They then pull out the latex from the mould; those big holes are the result. It's just for even cooking, although it has the added benefit of more airflow. The older the latex, the bigger the holes because newer methods allow smaller holes. Here's a video of latex production: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmsR2Z-JI0o
Latex comes uncompressed. Well, the good stuff anyway. I buy it by the container, and it's completely uncompressed. Our latex is not compressed at any stage. Real latex is treated very well, as it's difficult to make and expensive. Most of it comes from Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
