The Provider Communication Tab streamlines the process of creating not only referrals but many other types of communication like transfer of care letters, second-opinion summaries and others by pulling information directly from the encounter and note. It’s designed to save you time and ensure accuracy, making it easy to generate and customize communication letters for any specialty. It can also be used to generate Consult Notes.
Using the Provider Communication Tab
Access the Provider Communication Tab: Click on the Provider Communication Tab in Autochart.ai.
Select a Specialty: Choose the specialty relevant to the referral.
Choose the type of Communication: Whether that be a referral letter, consult note, or any of the other ones.
Add Specialist Details: Enter the name of the receiving specialist.
Provide Additional Instructions: Use the "Additional Instructions" box for any specific notes, such as including only relevant information for the referral topic if multiple issues were discussed during the visit.
Generate the Communication Letter: Click "Generate" to create the communication letter note.
The generated letter is fully editable, allowing you to adjust details as needed. Once finalized, copy and paste it into your electronic medical record (EMR). If you need to create another letter, simply delete the current one, repeat the steps, and copy the new referral into your EMR.
