What are Defaults?
Defaults allow you to set preferred values for options like brevity, input/output languages, and diagnostic codes, ensuring a consistent and efficient documentation experience.
How to Use Defaults:
Before the Consultation: Set up your defaults using the steps below so they automatically appear in the recording window every time you open it.
During the Consultation: Your defaults will load automatically when you start recording. If you need to make changes, simply use the dropdown menu to select a different option.
How to Set My Defaults
First, go to: Settings > AI Settings > Defaults tab.
Brevity
Adjust how detailed your medical notes will be:
Detailed: Generates comprehensive notes, ideal for consults requiring depth, such as mental health visits.
Balanced: Strikes a middle ground, providing a moderately detailed note.
Short: Uses shorthands and common acronyms for concise notes, often preferred in family medicine.
Input and Output Language
Input Language: Set the language for the AI to interpret your spoken input. For example, if you primarily speak French in your clinic, select French as the input language. When the recording window opens, it will listen for French unless changed to another language.
Output Language: Choose the language for AI-generated notes.
Tip: With over 100 input and output languages and dialects available, selecting the dialect closest to your accent ensures better accuracy. For example, choosing French (Canada) instead of generic French helps the AI better understand a Québécois accent.
Diagnostic Code Selection
Select the diagnostic code format your practice uses (e.g., ICD-10, SNOMED) from the dropdown menu.
Append Predefined Text
Automatically include standard disclaimers or text at the end of every note to ensure transparency, compliance, and consistency in your documentation.
By customizing your Defaults in Autochart.ai, you can ensure a consistent and efficient experience that aligns with your workflow and preferences. Whether it’s adjusting note detail, choosing languages tailored to your practice, or ensuring compliance with standardized text, Defaults save time and reduce repetitive tasks, letting you focus more on patient care.
