eBay stores: how to add API and non-API (MIP)

Connect your eBay store to AutoDS using API or non-API (MIP) integration, and configure business policies.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Introduction

When connecting your eBay store to AutoDS for dropshipping automation, you can choose between two integration methods: API integration and non-API integration, also called the Merchant Integration Platform (MIP). Both options allow you to manage products and orders, but they differ in automation level, requirements, and available features.

The API integration offers the smoothest experience with full automation and advanced monitoring, while the non-API (MIP) integration provides flexibility for sellers who prefer not to grant direct API permissions. Understanding how each connection method works will help you choose the right setup for your business and ensure you configure proper business policies for your supplier type.

Tip: We highly recommend using the API version to enjoy the best monitoring experience and all of AutoDS automation features. If you still decide to work with the non-API (MIP) integration, please have your computer on 24/7 or run the extension at least a few times a day to update your prices and stocks.

API vs non-API (MIP) comparison

When connecting your eBay store to AutoDS, the choice between API and non-API (MIP) integration impacts how your store operates, what features you can access, and how much manual work is required.

  • The API integration connects your store directly through eBay's API, enabling full automation and smoother product and order management.

  • The non-API (MIP) integration connects through the AutoDS Chrome extension, allowing you to work without API permissions, but requiring your browser and extension to remain active.

Key differences

The table below compares the main differences between API and non-API (MIP) connections to help you choose the right integration method:

Aspect

API integration

Non-API (MIP) integration

Connection type

Connect directly through AutoDS with eBay API permissions.

Setup complexity

Easier and direct via eBay API.

Requires:

  • Token copy.

  • Chrome browser.

  • Stable internet.

  • Extension setup.

Updates speed

Usually within a few minutes (depending on volume).

It can take 5-10 minutes (depending on volume).

Automation

Full automation of price, stock, orders, and tracking updates.

Requires extension for monitoring updates.

Edit images and item specifications

Can be edit via Drafts or Product page.

Can be edit via Drafts page only.

Important: After the product is imported to an eBay non-API (MIP) store, there is no option to edit images and item specifications on the Product page.

Monitoring

Real-time monitoring and updates directly through eBay's API.

Updates processed through eBay File Exchange and Chrome extension.

Requirements

Grant AutoDS 3rd-party app permissions on eBay.

The computer is on 24/7, or to run the extension multiple times daily for updates.

Order management

Automatic order syncing and fulfillment.

  • Orders sync through the extension when active.

  • Only orders that have been received in the previous 7 days will be synced.

Tracking updates

Automatic tracking updates are sent directly to eBay.

No tracking updates are sent directly to an eBay non-API (MIP) store. They will need to be manually added.

Business policies

Uses eBay's native business policies and supports the Dynamic Policies feature.

  • Use only eBay's native policies.

  • Dynamic policy features are not available for eBay non-API (MIP) stores.

Message center

Full access to the eBay message center through AutoDS.

No message center access.

Additional cost

No extra cost beyond the standard AutoDS subscription and eBay subscription.

$9.97/month per non-API (MIP) account.

Full access to all actions and permissions defined by the primary account.

VAs' permissions available for eBay non-API (MIP) stores:

  • Draft creation.

  • Upload scheduling.

  • Product import.

  • Active product editing.

  • Settings editing.

Performance analysis

Analysis of over 10,000 active AutoDS stores shows no major difference in store success between API and non-API (MIP) users. However, stores using the API version enjoy a smoother experience and can take full advantage of AutoDS automation features.

Note: If one of the non-API (MIP) requirements is not functioning correctly, the connection will be disrupted. With non-API (MIP) integration, keep your computer on 24/7, or run the Chrome extension several times per day to keep listings updated.

With API integration, once connected, AutoDS will have 3rd-party app permissions on eBay to manage your account. This is the most recommended method for smoother automation.

eBay new seller account approval process

When you create a new eBay seller account, eBay implements an approval process to ensure platform quality and prevent fraud. Understanding this process helps you set realistic expectations and plan your dropshipping business launch appropriately.

Approval timeline:

  • Instant approval: Most new seller accounts are approved immediately after registration and can start listing products right away.

  • Review period: In some cases, eBay may place your account under review, which can take 24 to 72 hours (or up to 7 business days in rare cases).

  • Factors affecting approval: eBay evaluates several factors, including account information accuracy, payment method verification, and seller location.

Selling limits for new sellers:

New eBay sellers face initial selling limits to protect buyers and maintain marketplace integrity. These limits typically include:

  • Item limit: New sellers usually start with a limit of 10 items per month.

  • Value limit: New sellers typically have a monthly selling limit of $500 to $1,000 in total sales value.

  • Gradual increases: As you build positive selling history, eBay automatically increases these limits. You can also request limit increases after completing successful transactions.

Tips to increase your selling limits faster:

  • Complete all transactions professionally and ship items promptly.

  • Maintain excellent customer service and respond quickly to buyer messages.

  • Provide accurate tracking information for all orders.

  • Build positive feedback from buyers.

  • Request a selling limit increase through your eBay seller dashboard after establishing a good track record.

Payment holds for new sellers:

  • eBay may place payment holds on funds from your first sales until you establish a positive track record.

  • This is standard practice and typically lasts for your first few transactions or until you meet certain performance criteria.

Note: These limitations apply to your eBay seller account, not to AutoDS integration. Once your eBay account is approved and limits are established, you can connect it to AutoDS using either API or non-API (MIP) integration methods described in this guide.

Add an eBay API store to AutoDS

Connecting your eBay store to AutoDS via the API integration is the most recommended method. This connection provides full automation, smoother synchronization, and direct access to all AutoDS features. By following this guide, you will integrate your eBay account through API and start uploading products in just a few minutes.

Steps to connect your eBay API store

To connect your eBay store to AutoDS using the API integration method, follow these steps:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Add Store.

  2. If you see No Stores, click ➕ Add Store at the bottom left corner.

  3. Click Add Store again to proceed.

  4. Choose eBay from the list of selling channels.

  5. Select your eBay target marketplace (e.g., eBay UK, eBay US, eBay AU). Be careful when selecting the region to avoid future errors.

  6. Log in to the eBay account you want to connect.

  7. Click Agree to grant AutoDS third-party access via eBay's API.

After connecting, you'll see a confirmation that your store was added successfully. AutoDS will then have third-party app permissions to manage your eBay account.

This is the most recommended method for full automation and seamless integration with AutoDS.

Add an eBay non-API (MIP) store

This section walks you through every action required to connect an eBay store to AutoDS using the Merchant Integration Platform (MIP) method. You will learn how to configure your MIP account, generate the authentication token, align your eBay business policies, install the AutoDS manual dropshipping Chrome extension, and handle multiple stores or bulk product linking.

Recommendation: Use API stores whenever possible for faster and more stable synchronization, real-time updates, easier setup, and direct access to more AutoDS features.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your eBay store using the non-API (MIP) method, ensure you have:

  • A live eBay seller account with business policies created or ready to create.

  • Same IP address used to log in to both eBay and MIP.

  • Google Chrome browser.

  • AutoDS subscription (additional $9.97/month for each non-API (MIP) store).

  • Ability to install Chrome extensions.

Common mistakes to avoid

Prevent setup errors and connection issues by avoiding these common mistakes when configuring your non-API (MIP) integration:

  • Skipping the feed schema step or choosing the wrong file type.

  • Copying policy names inaccurately (capitalization and spacing matters).

  • Renewing the MIP token inside AutoDS Store Settings (this will convert the store to API mode).

Steps to connect your eBay non-API (MIP) store

To begin setting up your non-API (MIP) connection, you need to access the correct MIP portal for your marketplace:

Step 1: Choose your "Ship to Region"

  1. Browse from the same IP you normally use for eBay.

  2. Visit the correct MIP portal for your marketplace:

  3. Click Get Started and sign in with your eBay seller credentials.

Step 2: Configure feed schema

The feed schema determines how AutoDS communicates with eBay through file exchanges:

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings → Feed Schema.

  2. Set Feed Format to eBay Format.

  3. In Select the file type, choose CSV.

  4. Click Save Changes.

Step 3: Generate token and user ID

The MIP token and user ID are essential credentials for connecting your store to AutoDS:

  1. Go to Settings → FTP setup.

  2. Add a Token Alias and click Generate Token.

  3. The long string in the empty textarea is your MIP token. You'll need to copy it exactly as it is.

  4. Just below, copy the Username field (this is your eBay User ID) and paste it into Notepad as well.

The Token Alias is simply a name (label) you assign to the FTP token you are about to generate. It does not affect authentication or functionality; it's just an identifier for your own reference, helpful if you create multiple tokens and want to keep them organized.

Tips for copying: click inside the box, press CTRL/CMD + A, then CTRL/CMD + C to copy, then paste it into Notepad for later.

Step 4: Configure policies and warehouses

Setting up your channel management ensures that AutoDS knows which business policies to apply and where your products are located:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Channel management.

  2. If no channel exists, click Add channel.

  3. For each column:

    • Shipping Policy (Default): Click Add/Edit and choose the policy.

    • Payment Policy (Default): Click Add/Edit and choose the policy.

    • Returns Policy (Default): Click Add/Edit and choose the policy.

  4. Under Warehouse, click Set location and enter City, State, Country, Zip. Example: "Los Angeles, CA, United States, 90001."

Important: To properly connect your store and set your policies correctly, ensure you copy the exact policy name from the "Default" option in eBay's policy "Name" field. Any differences in capitalization, spacing, or spelling will prevent the policy from syncing correctly with AutoDS.

Step 5: Add the store to AutoDS

Now that you have your MIP credentials and policies configured, you can add the store to AutoDS:

  1. In AutoDS, open the main sidebar and click Add Store and Add Store again.

  2. Choose eBay as the selling channel, then pick your target marketplace (e.g., eBay UK).

  3. Click Continue.

  4. Tick the Non-API (MIP) checkbox.

  5. Fill the NON-API Settings form inside the pop-up:

    • Store Name: exact eBay User ID from Notepad.

    • eBay Token: paste the MIP token.

    • Enter the exact policy names you selected as default (Shipping, Payment, Returns).

  6. Click Finish.

You will need your AutoDS token to activate your non-API (MIP) eBay store on AutoDS. To obtain your token, follow these steps:

  1. Locate your store name and click the pen (edit) icon next to it on your AutoDS account.

  2. Click the three-dots dropdown menu to open additional options.

  3. Select Copy AutoDS Token from the menu.

  4. The token will be copied to your clipboard and ready to paste into the extension.

How to copy AutoDS Token for an eBay non-API (MIP) store connection to AutoDS

Step 6: Download and activate the Chrome extension

The AutoDS eBay Manual Dropshipping Chrome Extension is essential for non-API (MIP) integration, as it handles monitoring and synchronization:

  1. A pop-up confirms the store was added and prompts you to download now. Click the button.

  2. Once Chrome finishes the download, click the puzzle-piece icon and pin the extension.

  3. Copy the AutoDS Token shown in the AutoDS pop-up.

  4. Open the extension settings, paste the AutoDS Token, and add your email address.

You have finished setting up your eBay MIP store with AutoDS.

Managing multiple non-API (MIP) stores

If you operate multiple eBay stores using non-API (MIP) integration, each store requires a separate Chrome profile to keep tokens isolated and organized:

  1. Log in to AutoDS, eBay, and the extension in the same Chrome profile.

  2. For each additional eBay store, create a separate Chrome profile.

  3. Install the AutoDS eBay Manual Dropshipping Chrome Extension again in that profile.

  4. Paste the correct store token for that profile.

Refer to Google's official guide here for help creating new profiles.

non-API (MIP) Chrome extension guide

The AutoDS non-API (MIP) integration (also called Merchant Integration Platform) allows you to connect your eBay store without using direct API permissions. With the non-API (MIP) Chrome extension (AutoDS eBay Manual Dropshipping), you can monitor untracked listings, sync orders, and keep your store connected to AutoDS safely and reliably.

How the extension works

The AutoDS eBay Manual Dropshipping Chrome Extension provides several monitors (toggles) and functions (buttons) that keep your store synchronized:

Monitors:

  • Untracked Monitor: Syncs your active listings on eBay to AutoDS untracked listings. Helps you find unmonitored products and avoid missing sales. Runs once per hour.

  • Orders Monitor: Syncs your eBay orders to AutoDS for the last 7 days. Runs every 20 minutes.

  • Upload Monitor: Syncs reports to eBay about newly uploaded items, deletions, and changes. Runs every 20 minutes.

  • Result Monitor: Syncs reports sent back from eBay about your monitored items. Runs every 20 minutes.

Functions:

  • Run Untracked Sync Now: Use if you deleted untracked products on eBay and want AutoDS to reflect those changes immediately.

  • Run Orders Sync Now: Use if some eBay orders are missing in AutoDS and you want to sync them instantly.

  • Start Upload Process: Begins the upload process. May take 15–30 minutes to reflect on eBay.

  • Start Result Update Process: Retrieves result files from eBay almost immediately after clicking.

Additional features:

  • Help Center shortcut: Opens the AutoDS Help Center's non-API (MIP) section.

  • Token & email update: Updates your store's token and email address.

  • View logs: Opens the extension logs for troubleshooting.

Note: To synchronize untracked products (listings added directly on eBay), the extension must be active. Orders, price/stock updates, and uploads will still run even if the extension is not running. Learn more about how to upload products and connect untracked products to your AutoDS account.

How to export your non-API (MIP) extension logs

There may be cases when the support team asks you to send your extension logs to solve an issue. You need to send the following with every ticket or chat:

  • A screenshot of your extension.

  • A screenshot of the extension settings showing your token.

  • A CSV file of your extension logs.

How to download a CSV of your logs:

  1. Click on the bell icon in the extension to open the error logs.

  2. Click on the Export Logs button.

  3. A CSV file will be downloaded to your computer.

  4. Send this file together with the screenshots to the support agent handling your case.

How to switch between API and non-API (MIP)

Changed your mind about how your eBay account is connected to AutoDS? You can switch between API and non-API (MIP) methods at any time. This flexibility allows you to choose the connection method that best fits your business needs, easily switch if your strategy or compliance requirements change, and follow step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth transition.

Change from API to non-API (MIP)

To convert your existing store to a non-API (MIP) version, follow these steps:

  1. Remove authorization from eBay by going to My eBay → Account → Account Settings → Site Preferences → Third-party authorizations.

  2. Select Revoke → Revoke this authorization → Apply.

  3. In AutoDS, open the sidebar and click the pencil icon.

  4. Click the three dots next to the store and select Convert to Non-API (MIP).

  5. Download and set up the Chrome extension.

  6. Copy the AutoDS token you received and paste it into the extension.

  7. Click Update.

The status will remain Waiting for extension initiation until the system detects that the Chrome extension is installed and your AutoDS token has been added. When the token is added correctly, the extension will display your store information and monitoring status.

Change from non-API (MIP) to API

To convert your existing store to an API version, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall the Chrome Extension to ensure it does not continue updating your listings via eBay's File Exchange.

  2. In your AutoDS account, click on the pencil icon.

  3. Click on the three dots next to the relevant store and choose Convert to API.

  4. Approve the connection on eBay. You will be redirected to eBay, where you should log in to the eBay account you wish to connect.

  5. Click Agree to grant AutoDS access via API.

Opt-in to eBay business policies

eBay does not enable business policies by default. To use AutoDS, you must first activate business policies by visiting the eBay Business Policies opt-in page. AutoDS requires selecting a policy when importing products. These policies ensure your listings follow supplier terms and support automation features like Dynamic Policies.

eBay business policies for US suppliers

eBay business policies define the terms and conditions for your listings, covering payment, shipping, and returns. They are required for AutoDS automation and must be set correctly to avoid listing errors, delays, or account issues.

This section will walk you through setting up business policies for U.S. suppliers (using Walmart US as an example). Configuring these policies correctly ensures automation compatibility, prevents errors and suspensions, saves time with reusable templates, increases buyer trust, and boosts visibility, as listings with 60-day returns rank higher in eBay search.

Create a payment policy

Creating a payment policy ensures buyers pay immediately before you ship their orders:

  1. On the eBay Business Policies page, go to Create Policy → Payment.

  2. Name it: eBay Payments – Immediate Pay.

  3. Check: Require immediate payment when the buyer uses Buy It Now. This ensures buyers pay before shipping.

  4. If you're using eBay Managed Payments, nothing else needs to be configured.

  5. Click Save.

Create a return policy

Creating a return policy establishes clear expectations for how returns are handled:

  1. Go to Create Policy → Return.

  2. Name it: Walmart US Return Policy.

  3. Set: Domestic returns accepted.

  4. Choose: 60 days (eBay's max; Walmart usually allows 90). Select: Free for buyer – you pay.

  5. Check: Replacement or exchange available.

  6. Leave the International Return Policy blank.

  7. Click Save.

Create a shipping policy

Creating a shipping policy determines how your products are delivered and what costs apply:

  1. Go to Create Policy → Shipping.

  2. Name it: Walmart US – Shipping Policy.

  3. Select: Flat – same cost to all buyers.

  4. Under Domestic Shipping, choose Standard Shipping (1–5 business days).

  5. Check: Free Shipping (improves search ranking and conversion).

  6. Set Handling Time: 3 business days.

  7. Click Save.

Important: Under Domestic Shipping, do not choose a specific carrier like UPS or FedEx, as Walmart uses multiple providers.

Note: Add Expedited Shipping (1–3 business days) in Additional services (e.g., $1.99 + $0.99 per extra item). Since Walmart ships quickly, this has become pure profit.

Exclude non-US locations

Since we're not creating international policies for US suppliers, exclude all locations outside the U.S.:

  1. Go to Excluded Locations.

  2. Check all regions except the United States.

  3. Click Done and Save.

International shipping policy for US suppliers

We recommend avoiding international shipping with U.S. suppliers. If needed, use Hipshipper (integrated with AutoDS). Hipshipper manages and assigns international policies automatically.

Finalize policies in AutoDS

After creating your eBay business policies, assign them in AutoDS:

  1. Go to Settings → Supplier Settings → Lister.

  2. Under each supplier, select the Payment, Return, and Shipping policies you created.

  3. Click Save.

  4. AutoDS applies them by default to every new listing from that supplier.

Automation Tip – Maximum Shipping Days: Go to Settings → Supplier Settings → General and set a maximum shipping days limit. AutoDS will put items on hold if shipping exceeds this timeframe.

Sourcing Tip – Policy Matching: Use the AutoDS Marketplace to check supplier shipping times and return policies, then match your eBay business policies before importing products.

eBay business policies for Chinese suppliers

Setting up proper eBay business policies is essential when working with Chinese suppliers such as AliExpress. These policies determine how you receive payments, ship products, and handle returns. By following this step-by-step guide, you'll create compliant and efficient payment, shipping, and return policies, avoid costly mistakes and account issues, provide accurate expectations to your buyers, and streamline your listings with AutoDS automation.

Unlike US suppliers, Chinese suppliers take longer to ship out items. Additionally, they offer international shipping to many locations. Therefore, the template for these suppliers is a bit different. We'll use AliExpress for illustration since it is a popular Chinese supplier. However, policies may vary from supplier to supplier. If you want to work with multiple Chinese suppliers, create a separate template for each.

Create a payment policy

Creating a payment policy ensures immediate payment and smooth cash flow:

  1. Go to eBay > Account Settings > Business Policies.

  2. Click Create Policy > Payment.

  3. Name it: eBay Payments – Immediate Pay.

  4. Enable: Set as default payment policy.

  5. Enable: Require immediate payment with Buy It Now.

  6. (Optional) If using PayPal, add your PayPal email.

  7. Save the policy.

Create a return policy

Creating a return policy that aligns with Chinese supplier terms:

  1. Create a new Return policy.

  2. Name it: AliExpress-China Return Policies.

  3. Choose:

    • Returns accepted: Yes

    • Return period: 30 days

    • Return shipping: Buyer pays

    • International returns: Same as domestic

  4. Save the policy.

Create a shipping policy

Creating shipping policies for Chinese suppliers requires accounting for longer delivery times and international destinations.

Domestic shipping

Set up your U.S. shipping policy with flat rates and delivery options from China to the United States, including standard and expedited services:

  1. Create a new Shipping policy.

  2. Name it: AliExpress – China to US.

  3. Choose:

    • Type: Flat shipping rate

    • Service: Economy Shipping from outside US (11–23 business days)

    • Handling time: 5 days

  4. Add expedited option:

    • Service: Standard SpeedPAK (8–12 business days).

International shipping

Define flat-rate international shipping for major global regions with separate pricing for economy and standard delivery options:

  1. Choose Flat rate.

  2. Locations: Canada, Europe, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia.

  3. Economy Shipping: Free ($0).

  4. Add Standard Shipping: $2.97 + $0.97 per extra item.

Additional shipping services

Add extra shipping rules for specific regions such as the Americas, Brazil, and Russia, with customized costs per item:

  1. Locations: North & South America, Mexico, Brazil, Russian Federation.

  2. Service: Economy Shipping from Greater China worldwide.

  3. Cost: $4.97 + $3.97 per extra item.

Additional ship-to locations

Allow worldwide delivery and specify that buyers must contact you directly for custom shipping costs to unsupported regions:

  1. Enable: Will ship worldwide.

  2. Under "Additional ship-to locations," select: Buyers contact for shipping costs.

Exclude shipping locations

List the domestic and international areas where you do not offer delivery, including Alaska, Puerto Rico, China, and Hong Kong:

  1. Domestic: Alaska/Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO/FPO.

  2. Asia: China, Hong Kong.

  3. Central America & Caribbean: Puerto Rico.

  4. Click Save after exclusions.

Transfer listings between policies

Learn how to reassign existing eBay listings to a new shipping policy directly from the Business Policies page:

  1. On the Business Policies page, check the box beside the policy.

  2. Click Reassign Listings.

  3. Choose the new policy and click Change.

  4. Changes may take a few minutes to reflect.

Assign policies in AutoDS

Assign the correct Payment, Shipping, and Return policies to your eBay listings—either from Drafts or Supplier Settings in AutoDS:

For draft products:

  1. Go to Drafts tab and open product draft.

  2. Scroll to Policies section and assign correct Payment, Shipping, and Return policies.

  3. Click Import to upload.

For new products:

  1. Go to Settings > Supplier Settings > Lister.

  2. Select the Payment, Return, and Shipping policies for each supplier.

  3. AutoDS will apply them by default to every new listing.

Tip: Under Settings > Supplier Settings > General, set a limit for Maximum Shipping Days. If exceeded, AutoDS automatically puts the product on hold.

Product sourcing and policy matching

Before importing products, verify each supplier’s shipping times and return policies to ensure your eBay business settings stay aligned.

Use the AutoDS Marketplace to check supplier shipping times and return policies before importing products. This ensures that your eBay business policies match supplier requirements.

How the program works

If you're an eligible US-based eBay seller, you'll be automatically enrolled (no opt-in required) in the eBay International Shipping (EIS) program.

Here are a few key things to know:

  • Default Shipping Option: EIS becomes your default international shipping method if no other international options are set on your listings.

  • Buyer Shipping Choice: If you offer manual international shipping, buyers can choose between your options and EIS.

  • Using Only EIS: To make EIS the only option, you'll need to remove any other international shipping services from your listings.

  • Domestic Shipping Hub: When an international sale is made, eBay will notify you and provide the domestic shipping hub address.

  • eBay Handles the Rest: Just ship the item to the hub—eBay manages international delivery, customs, tracking, and returns from that point on.

Visit the official eBay International Shipping page on eBay's website to find everything about shipping and tracking, handling combined orders, managing shipping exclusions, list of eligible countries, restricted items and categories, returns and refunds, fees and charges, and how to opt out of the program.

Overseas Warehouse Block Policy

Effective April 1, 2025, eBay has implemented the Overseas Warehouse Block Policy. Sellers with accounts registered in certain countries must obtain approval to ship items from warehouses located outside their registered country. This policy aims to ensure a positive experience for international buyers.

Key Points:

  • Approval Required: Sellers must apply for authorization to use overseas warehouses.

  • Evaluation Period: Accounts with a strong selling history between July 1, 2024, and April 1, 2025, may be granted authorization.

  • Affected Countries: A comprehensive list of countries subject to this policy is available on eBay's official page.

For more details, please refer to eBay's Overseas Warehouse Block Policy.

Upload products and untracked products

After connecting your non-API (MIP) store, you can begin uploading products and managing your inventory.

To understand the different upload methods, including manual uploads, CSV imports, untracked product linking, and bulk operations, refer to this detailed article: Product uploads: methods, variations, untracked products, and settings.

Troubleshooting and possible issues

When working with eBay integration on AutoDS, you may encounter certain issues. This section covers the most common problems and their solutions, including how to check extension logs and download SellerHub reports for troubleshooting.

eBay non-API (MIP) integration issues: SellerHub reports

eBay SellerHub reports provide detailed information about upload attempts, changes to existing listings, and error messages from eBay's system. These reports are essential for troubleshooting non-API (MIP) integration issues.

To check SellerHub reports about listing uploads and updates:

  1. Go to your eBay Seller Hub Reports.

  2. Open the Upload Reports page.

  3. Review the list of files:

    • Each line represents an uploaded file or a changed file (price/stock update).

    • At the end of each file name, you will see a reference ID.

    • The status column will show if the action was successful or if it failed.

  4. Identify the correct file:

    • If the issue is with an upload, look for the upload file.

    • If the issue is with a product update, look for the change file.

    • Sometimes, AutoDS Support may give you the specific reference ID to check.

    • If not, download all relevant files (request and response files) from that day and search for the one containing the specific item or upload.

  5. Send both files to the AutoDS support agent handling your case so they can investigate further.

Important: AutoDS sends updates to eBay every 60 minutes. Normally, your item will appear within 1 hour, but it can take longer if SellerHub servers are delayed.

Download SellerHub report files

These reports help analyze what happened with attempts to upload or update your listings when using the non-API (MIP) connection with AutoDS.

To download the SellerHub report files for support:

  1. Go to your SellerHub Reports on eBay.

  2. Open the Download tab and click Download Report.

  3. Select the Report source when:

    • Listings: to compare listings appearing on eBay and in AutoDS.

    • Orders: troubleshooting order-related issues.

  4. Select Report type

    • All Active Listings: check all active listings.

    • All Orders: check all active orders.

  5. Click Download.

  6. eBay will generate the file and download it to your computer.

Important: Do not open or edit the file if you're sending it to support. Opening may distort the format.

Common integration issues and solutions

The table below provides quick solutions to frequently encountered problems when working with eBay stores on AutoDS:

Issue

Workaround

Policies do not import: Policy names do not match exactly.

Copy/paste names directly from eBay. Ensure correct spelling, spacing, and capitalization from the default option. You can update this in the Store Settings page.

Untracked products not syncing: Extension closed, logged out, or out of sync.

Keep the Chrome profile open, ensure the AutoDS extension is active, and use the sync option to trigger synchronization.

Items relisted after deletion: Products deleted directly on eBay.

Always delete products from AutoDS, not eBay. Deleting them on eBay directly will cause AutoDS to relist them.

CSV upload error: "No product was given to import from untracked": Incorrect Product ID format.

Reformat the Product ID column using "Number" with 0 decimals, or use Google Sheets as outlined in the instructions.

Need to switch from API → MIP or correct field setup: Manual change required.

Open a support ticket with the AutoDS team for assistance.

MIP location not set error: MIP location not set in Warehouse settings.

Go to Settings > Channel Management > Warehouse in MIP and set the product location by entering City, State, Country, and Zip code.

New eBay policies not showing in AutoDS: Sync delay between eBay and AutoDS.

It may take a few minutes to hours for new policies to sync. Resync your store and wait.

Can't import products without policies: No default policies created.

Create at least one default Payment, Shipping, and Return policy in eBay. Use the AutoDS Dynamic Policy feature for automation.

Important: Using incorrect shipping policies can result in shipping delays on eBay, which may eventually lead to account suspensions or lost sales.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

I see the error: "Please sign in to your eBay account here, then try again." What does it mean?

It means your eBay session expired (browser or tab was closed, or eBay logged you out). Sign back into your eBay account through the link in the extension error logs to restore monitoring.

Is auto-ordering available for non-API (MIP) stores?

Orders sync through the extension and can be auto-ordered. However, your Chrome browser must remain active with a stable internet connection for auto-ordering to work properly.

How long do changes take to update with non-API (MIP)?

Changes are sent to eBay SellerHub every 15 minutes. Updates usually appear within 30 minutes but may take longer if eBay's system is delayed. You can track this in the extension logs.

Does the AutoDS non-API (MIP) extension work on Chromebooks?

The non-API (MIP) extension is supported only on desktop versions of Google Chrome and is not available for Chromebooks.

What is the AutoDS dynamic policy feature?

Dynamic Policies automatically calculate delivery time for supported suppliers and update your eBay shipping policy accordingly. It allows you to manage multiple suppliers without manually creating separate policies.
