MTD - Income Tax settings

Enable Making Tax Digital (MTD) from the Income Tax settings in AccountsPrep.

Once you've activated a subscription to AccountsPrep from Sage Client Management, you can then activate the MTD feature from AccountsPrep settings.

📎NOTE: The MTD feature is available to UK customers only if you activated AccountsPrep as a subscription via Sage Client Management. It isn’t available if you added AccountsPrep as an add-on from AutoEntry as a standalone product.

Enable MTD

You can enable MTD from your AccountsPrep account:

  1. From AccountsPrep, go to Settings.

  2. Click Income Tax.

  3. Review the Eligibility and click Enable Income Tax.

  4. Once activated, the Income Tax settings page will open.

The Income Tax setting page includes the following sections:

Income Tax categories

Your Income Tax categories will link automatically with your Chart of Account.

If categories are missing, the following message will display:

Missing Income Tax Categories

Assign Income Tax Categories in your chart of accounts.

Follow the link to your Chart of Accounts setting page to set up your Income Tax categories.

Check your defaults

You can also review your default ledger accounts from the Record and Transactions settings.

Income Tax summary

Once you've reviewed your settings, you can proceed to the Income Tax Summary report page. You can then review the figures and submit your quarterly updates and final declaration.
