AccountsPrep is now available via Sage for Accountant. (Release planned early 2026). You can set it up from your clients' profile within Sage Client Management.

Step 1 - Activate AccountsPrep

To activate AccountsPrep, you need to add AutoEntry and sign up to AccountsPrep:

  1. Access Sage Client Management.

  2. From your client, add AutoEntry as a product. (No subscription required)

  3. Activate AccountsPrep as a subscription.

For more detailed steps, visit Activate AccountsPrep in Client Management. (Sage Help)

Integration with AutoEntry:

When you add AccountsPrep as a subscription, this will automatically set up the company in AccountsPrep and integrate it with AutoEntry.

You can then use AccountsPrep together with AutoEntry and navigate between the two workspaces straight away.

Access:

Once set up, you can only access AccountsPrep / AutoEntry from your client profile within Client Management.

Step 2 - Set up your company within AccountsPrep

Once you can access AccountsPrep, we advise you to configure your Default settings, set up the Chart of accounts and Opening balances.

For more details, check Set up your AccountsPrep Company.

Step 3 - Using AccountsPrep and AutoEntry

For any help using AccountsPrep, visit the AccountsPrep Help centre.

For any help using AutoEntry, visit the AutoEntry help centre.

Standalone version / SFA integration - differences

The content in the help centre is based on AutoEntry / AccountsPrep as a standalone product. The features are mostly the same via SFA, but there are small differences around the navigation and some of the settings:

Not available via AccountsPrep standalone

The MTD feature is currently in development and will only be available within AccountsPrep via SFA and not in the standalone version.

Not available via SFA integration

Some sections that are available within AutoEntry as a standalone product are not available when integrated via SFA. Those features are managed from Sage for Accountant instead.
