To set up your 2-step verification method go to https://myaccount.google.com/security.

In the “Signing in to Google” panel, you have the 2-step verification option with a little right arrow sign.

When you click on the 2-step verification option, you need to enter your email password and click on the “Get Started” button.

The next step is to enter your phone number and choose how you want to get verification codes. There are many options to choose from. You can get codes by a text message, a phone call or you can pick another option. The last step is to turn on verification and navigate back to https://myaccount.google.com/security to set up the App password option.

Once you have created a 2-step verification, you have a new option - App passwords.

Click on the App passwords field, enter your email password and the verification code that has been sent to you by the method you have chosen.

Once all that is done, you can select the app or select a device for which you want to create your 16-digit password.

To create a password that can be used to connect your Autoklose account with Gmail by using the Connect Another Provider option with manually typing your IMAP HOST and SMTP HOST, click on the “Select App” and then click on Other(Custom Name).

Now, name your app and click on the Generate button. A pop-up window will appear with your 16-digit code which you will need to write down or remember.

When you go back to https://myaccount.google.com/security, you will see that now you have 1 new password added, you can now even turn off your 2-step verification and the password will remain.

To connect your email account to Autoklose with 2-factor authentication, go to email settings https://app.autoklose.com/settings/email, click on the Connect email account button, and connect your account using the third option “Connect Another Provider.”

Enter your email and your 16-digit password in the appropriate fields. You will need to enter IMAP/ SMTP settings manually.

NOTE: IMAP/SMTP settings shown in the image are common Gmail settings. To make sure you have the proper ones, please contact your email service provider or your IT administrator.
