First, let's explain the statuses "Unsubscribe reply" and "Not interested".

​Unsubscribe:

This status is automatically given to a recipient who replied to your message with the Unsubscribe reply/phrase in the subject line or email body. These contacts will be excluded from future campaigns unless you manually change the status to active.

We have a large list of such phrases, and our system is comparing it with the received reply. Some examples of phrases that trigger a status change are: "Do not email me", "Unsubscribe", "Remove me from your list", etc.

Sounds harsh, but it is better than to violate anti-spam laws or get reported.

Not interested:

Well, you can’t win them all, but what you can do is have the list of those who weren’t interested in what you have to offer, so you can invest some time in learning how you can overcome their objections. This way, you can get them to become interested over time.

The main difference between these two statuses is that recipients that replied with “Not interested” will be removed from the campaign only, while “Unsubscribed” will be removed from the campaign and added to the Do-not-email list.

The Unsubscribed do not want to be contacted again, but those who are Not interested might want to hear about your other products, offerings, or approaches.

Of course, if the reply was marked as “Not interested,” and there are some concerns, the status of the recipient can be changed manually by using "Set status" or "Add to the Do-not-email list".
