Using a Bluetooth Microphone so Ava can "hear" someone far:

  • 1) Get an affordable Bluetooth microphone like this earpiece, this one or this clip-on microphone
  • 2) When you received it, enable the Pairing mode on your Bluetooth device (usually press a few seconds on the button until the device lights blink).
  • 3) In a new conversation, press on the microphone icon for a few seconds (or go to your Profile and look in Settings for Set Microphone)
  • 4) Choose Setup Bluetooth Microphone in the menu, and select your Bluetooth device using the list of devices your phone detects. Once it's paired, come back to the Ava app.

How to Pair Ava to Bluetooth Mic

  • You should see the Bluetooth symbol on instead of the microphone. When the icon is blue, the Bluetooth microphone is now the new "ear" of Ava. Hand it to a friend/presenter/teacher to clip on or put in-ear, and their words will be captioned very accurately!
