If you selected the All or Nothing funding method, you can extend your project.

If you selected the ‘Keep what you raise / Flexible funding’ method, you cannot extend your project beyond the initial closing date.

For all or nothing projects taking part in 2022:

If you don’t manage to hit your target by the cohort closing date, your project can be extended a further 4 weeks past the initial cohort closing date.

Projects that haven't yet reached 100% will automatically be extended, unless they have raised £0. If you haven't received a pledge yet, you will need to opt-in to extend.

Extensions will be processed just before the close date. This means your close date will be moved and you will continue to raise funds from your crowd and the general public.

A few things to know:

  • You can close your project as soon as you reach your target and draw down on the funds raised. Or, keep fundraising towards your stretch target until your new close date. Just email us to ask.

  • Funds can only be released when your project closes successfully.

  • Your project can run for a maximum of 10 weeks from the cohort go live date.

  • Your project will not take part in any additional rounds of employee giving.

  • During the next round of Aviva employee giving, you will be able to receive more employee donations if you haven’t yet hit your target.

  • If you have Aviva employee donations on your page, these will remain on your page when you extend (as will crowd pledges) - nothing will be lost.
