HIPAA applies to “covered entities” (that is, health plans, health care clearinghouses, and  health care providers who electronically transmit any health information). Backpack Health is not one of these entities. We’re a place for you to store your health information in a way that makes the most sense to you. Even though we aren’t technically HIPAA compliant, we still meet all of the security and privacy standards that are required for HIPAA entities. We work hard to make sure your health information is secure.
