Clearing browser and app cache can help improve your device's performance and free up space. It's a straightforward process you can do on Android, iPhone, and computers.

Why Clear Cache?

  • Free up space: Cache files can take up a lot of space on your device. Clearing the cache frees up this storage.

  • Improve performance: Sometimes, old or corrupted cache files can slow down your browser or app, or even cause crashes. Clearing the cache can resolve these issues.

  • Load latest versions: To ensure you're loading the most recent updates or changes to websites or apps, clearing the cache might be necessary, as the cache often stores older data.

  • Security: In some cases, clearing the cache is also good for protecting personal data.

Clearing Browser Cache from Android Phones

On Android phones, Chrome is generally the most used browser.

Google Chrome (Android):

  1. Open the Chrome app on your Android phone or tablet.

  2. Tap the three vertical dots (More) icon in the top right corner.

  3. Select "History" and then tap "Clear Browse data".

  4. From the "Time range", select "All time".

  5. Ensure that the boxes for "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and site data" are checked.

  6. Finally, tap the "Clear data" button.

Other Browsers (e.g., Firefox for Android, Opera for Android, Brave Browser for Android, Samsung Internet): The process for other browsers will be similar to Chrome. Generally, you'll find a "Clear Browse data" or "Clear cache" option in the browser's settings or privacy section.
