What “BALL RUNNING” means

The “BALL RUNNING” message is a standard feature in live (in-play) sports betting, especially for cricket.

It appears on screen to indicate that the market is temporarily suspended or locked because live action is in progress. You cannot place or adjust bets while this message is active.

The betting cycle for each ball

Betting on a ball-by-ball market follows a simple cycle, and the “BALL RUNNING” status is a key part of it.

  1. Markets open: You can place bets between deliveries—after the previous ball is finished and before the bowler begins their run-up for the next ball.

  2. “BALL RUNNING” (markets suspended): When the bowler starts their run-up to deliver the ball, all betting options are temporarily locked. This status remains active while the ball is bowled, played, and until the immediate action is complete.

  3. Markets reopen: Once play for that ball is complete (the “ball is dead,” meaning play has stopped), the markets reopen. You can then place bets for the next ball, and the cycle repeats.

Summary

In short, “BALL RUNNING” means betting is paused while the ball is in play.

This is a normal part of all live betting platforms and ensures fairness by preventing bets during active gameplay.
