Managing your profile

How to change your password, displayed name, and time zone, and manage multi-factor authentication

Managing your profile lets you:

  • Change your password

  • Change your displayed name

  • Change your time zone

  • Add multi-factor authentication to a device

To change your password

  1. If you’re not on the Profile page, in the navigation bar, click the profile icon that displays your username initials, then click Manage profile.

  2. In the User information area, click Change password.

To change your displayed name

  1. If you’re not on the Profile page, in the navigation bar, click the profile icon that displays your username initials, then click Manage profile.

  2. In the Preferences area, type a new name.

  3. Click Save.

To change your time zone

  1. If you’re not on the Profile page, in the navigation bar, click the profile icon that displays your username initials, then click Manage profile.

  2. In the Preferences area, select a time zone.

  3. Click Save.

To add multi-factor authentication to a device

  1. If you’re not on the Profile page, in the navigation bar, click the profile icon that displays your username initials, then click Manage profile.

  2. In the Multi-factor authentication area, click Add device .

  3. In the Add MFA Device dialog, type a name for your device.

  4. Using your preferred authenticator app, do one of the following:

    • Scan the QR code.

    • Add the Secret key.

  5. Enter the code generated by your authenticator app.

  6. Click Add .

To generate MFA recovery codes

MFA recovery codes are one time use codes that let you recover access to your account. You may need a recovery code if you can’t access your MFA method, for example, if you lose access to the device that has the MFA application on it.

Requirement You must have added MFA to at least one device before generating MFA recovery codes.

Because you must be logged in to the account to generate MFA recovery codes, it’s best to generate the recovery codes when you add a device and store them in a safe place.

  1. If you’re not on the Profile page, in the navigation bar, click the profile icon that displays your username initials, then click Manage profile.

  2. In the Recovery passwords area, click Generate .

  3. Enter the MFA code from your authenticator app.

  4. Click Continue .

  5. Do one of the following:

    • Copy the codes.

    • Click Copy codes .

  6. Paste the codes in a document and save them in a safe place.
