In this article, you will learn how to scan documents directly into a patient's chart from Barti. Use it to scan insurance cards, consent forms, IDs, and other documents into Patient Profile > Files without saving files to your desktop or using the manual upload flow.
1. Open the Scan Modal
Go to Patient Profile and select the Files tab.
Click Scan next to the Upload button. (See instructions for downloading Dynasoft
Wait for the scanning service to initialize.
2. Configure Scanner Settings
In the Scan a File modal, select Scanner from the dropdown if you have more than one device.
Select Color Mode (Black & White, Grayscale, or Color).
Select Duplex (two-sided) scanning if your scanner supports it and you want to scan both sides.
Select File Format (PDF, JPEG or PNG)
(Note : JPEG and PNG will be disabled if your printer supports multi page scanning / auto feed and multiple pages were scanned)
3. Scan and Review
Click Scan to start scanning.
Review the preview in the Dynamsoft viewer.
Enter the File Name in the text field.
Select or add a Label (for example, Insurance Card, Consent to Treat) using the dropdown.
4. Upload
Click Upload File to add the scanned file(s) to the patient's profile.
All files are associated with the current patient.
5. Close
Click Cancel or close the modal when finished.

FAQ
What Type of Scanners are Supported by Barti Direct Scanning ?
Direct Scanning requires a TWAIN-compatible USB or network scanner
Why is duplex disabled (greyed out) ?
The connected scanner does not support duplex scanning.
What do I need to do the first time I use Direct Scanning
First-time setup may require installing the Dynamsoft client on each computer that will scan.
Click Download
Once downloaded open the file to install the application.
Follow all instructions until the application is installed on your pc or mac.
Once installed return to Barti and Click Verify or Reconnect.
What should I do if I get the following error?
